About Us

Cierra Johnson graduated on the Dean's Honour Roll from York University, Toronto, CANADA, in their Bachelor of Fine Arts program.

After starting creArt Foundation in 2020, Cierra established her mission to reach out to vulnerable youth in local communities to provide free art workshops. It is essential that children freely express themselves, explore their creativity, and release stress or the burdens of the being displaced. creArt is helping children regain their confidence, expand their imaginations and assist with their individual growth and resilience during these difficult times.

Because of the COVID-19 lockdown, many businesses and community based programs were forced to close. creArt workshops had to therefore be conducted online.  In order for the art workshops to be successful, it was important that participants had the necessary art supplies at their disposal. Cierra therefore began fundraising drive to raise money to purchase these supplies. She packaged them individually and called them "creArt paks". These "creArt paks were delivered either to a child's home or to family shelters which were then re-distributed before the start of the workshops.

Last school year, children were so engaged and enthusiastic with the projects they were doing, that they didn't want to stop. After a short Summer break, creArt is back running twelve workshops for two (2) terms - Fall and Winter. Projects include drawing, sculpting, crafts and painting.

Whether a participant is a beginner or an exceptional artist, they will find creArt's workshops allow them to be themselves!

The quality of your art and the care you put into educating the youth, goes a long way to improving the mental health and wellbeing of our young residents. A participant shared her art piece with me once, explaining; she didn’t think she was capable of making such a piece.
